What is Talent Management?
You may hear about talent; it can be identified as the skills
of individuals. Different industries define talents differently according to
their industrial purpose. Talents may come from born or they can be developed.
So, what is talent
management? Someone can say that talent management is a similar word to human resource
management. But it gives broad meaning.
Human resource departments play a huge role in an
organization. Talent management is one of the emerging concepts from them. The Main
perforce of talent management is to create a motivative workforce in long run.
It will help to gain a competitive advantage among other organizations.
According to the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development, UK) the talent management can be defined as
“Systematic attraction, identification, development, engagement, retention and deployment of those individuals who are of particular value to an organization, either in view of their ‘high potential’ for the future or because they are fulfilling business/operation-critical roles.”
Talent management is a combined human resource management
process. Using many strategies to human resource practices, organizations can
be gained high potential value to the workforce.
Talent management touches all key areas of human resource
practices. It will help to attract
the employees and develop them in the organization and motivate the
employees and retain the talented employees in the organization. The
final objective of talent management is to increase the performance of the workforce
of the organization. Then it will help to gain a sustainable competitive advantage
in the business world.
